Problems with SB 32 PnP

I bought a SB32PnP-card today, and I'm experiencing serious problems, which I hope some of you can help me with.

When I run DIAGNOSE.EXE from DOS, both the 8-bit and 16-bit soundtests works fine (it passes all the tests). BUT! When I try the third test (called synthesizer or something like that), no music is played. What can this depend on?
When I try to start Win95, the plug-and-play devices begins to install, but when Windows is about to install "Creative Advanced Wave Effects Synthesis for AWE32", the computer hangs. My guess is that these two problems are connected to
eachother, correct?

I somewhere read something about High DMA-transfer or something, and that that could cause trouble, but I haven't been able to find anything about it in my mainboard-manual (an Intel ATC-2000 430HX PCA/ISA mainboard).

I also experienced the same problems with my old SB Pro-card.

Please help!

Greetings / Peter Larsson

make sure you have the awe32 with all  the trimmings - i think some (value pack ??) do not have all the facilities.

then in dosmode set up the card irq5 dma low=1,high=5
address=220,midi=330, etc.

make sure these values are the same in win95 afterwards...but first..

try diagnose (get ver4.xx) - in old dos mode ....if no problems we can move on to win95,but if there is a conlict -

if you are "lucky" and have a jumper ver. PnPray - set it up as my above settings,and see if it does diagnose ok....also check if you can now hear 8,16 and synthesised !!

from dosmde we can move on to win95.....(unless you have the win95b,or OSR2... )
