Abaton DA Crashes

Mac:  LC475 20meg Ram – ROM Version:  $67C – ROM SubVersion: $26F1-13.1

System:  7.5.5

Problem:

My scanner DA (Abaton), which has been working just fine for years, started to freeze immediately after activating. Occasionally I get a type 10 bomb but usually it freezes with and without curser movement. The Abaton PhotoShop plug-in causes Photoshop to quit but does not crash the machine. The problem exists with:
      –Abaton software reinstalled
      –extensions off
      –PRAM  zapped
–when booted from a different disk (different system version)
–when nothing connected to the SCSI port (it should tell me that it can't find the scanner but it just freezes)

I have run all kinds of troubleshooting programs and they all report that all is OK. (MacCheck, Maxima Snooper 2.0-1, Fix Purgeable WDEFs 1.0 (Peter Newton), TechTool v106, Norton Disk Doctor v3.1).

Have I eliminated all posibility of it being a software problem? Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Dave

PS Everything else seems to be working fine.

Type 10 is a trap error, this means that the DA/Init couldn't change the system instructions correctly. If it did before something else perhaps are trying to trap the same toolboxcall/space. Have you installed some new extensions or system applications?
