I have develloped a Database java Applet with Visual Cafe Pro.
I have hard time to make it run under Netscape 3.0x and over
The Applet contains 3 grids inside a tabpanel, a treeview and 2 choices.
I make two version of the applet one that lunch all the components in a frame an another one that show them in the browser.
Under Netscape3.0x for Windows 95/NT : Both version will run correctly, but if you exit Netscape and start Netscape and the applet again, it does not work. You have to reboot your machine in order to allow your applet to run.

Under Netscape Communicator PreRelease 2: The Frame version won't run at all. The inside the browser version will run corretly the first time. but you can not run it two times. (ie. you have change pages and you return to the applet page but not by using your Back Button but by reenterring the URL) You have to exit the browser and restart your browser to make it run a se4cond time.

Since it work perfectly in Netscape 2.02 and Microsoft IE 3.0x, I figure out that the implementation of Netscape 3.0x and above is wrong. Maybe the problem come with the Borland JIT include in Netscape 3.0x

Can anyone explain what can be wrong?

Thanks

If you ask, I guess, Netscape Java Console says nothing Exceptions and other bad things.
I'm pretty sure, NN3 has some errors in IBorland JIT compiller, and it very easy to stuck on one of them, especially if you work with DB (I guess, it's JDBC, meaning, native methods calls and, etc., it does not make system more stable), I've met a lot of complains and no one solution or just clear descryption of error,   so, maybe now not very bad way is just _make_ customer to use MSIE or NN2 ( for example, detect browser version from Javascript and after that decide, show him the applet or page "go and download MSIE). And after that just wait for commercial release of NCommunicator, probably,  it will be better.

The real solution is put your owns packages of classes in a ZIP file. This fix some problems assosiated with DL classes.

Another Fix, Netscape 3.0 has problem with Threads, When you Yield, it sometime does not do anything. One of the major Symantec classes that has the problem is the LogonFrame, the solution rewrite the Logon Failure Handler such that it does not use Thread
