I want my applet to fill the entire frame, however big that
may be, and continue to exactly fill the frame as the user
resizes his browser.  Is this possible?

NO, this is not possible, becuse applet doesn't know and could not guess whe frame is resized and then again he cannot chabge his size to fill entire frame.
