C books

Recently I started learning C with the book "Programming C in 12 Easy
Lessons"  This has been fairly easy and fun, but I don't like the
compiler.  I am about to get Microsoft Visual C++.  I have heard their
is quite a bit of differences between Borland's compiler and the Visual
C++ compiler.  Are there any books as good as the "Programming C in 12
Easy Lessons"  that will teach me how to program C with Visual C++ or
can tell me the basic differences?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
