what is wrong, i have uploaded the binaries of gs 3.33 for my os SUNOS. compiled with the driver for the dj550
I have with no doubt the correct printcap file
my filter file is like this :

        /usr/local/bin/gs -q -sDEVICE=$DEVICE \
                -r$RESOLUTION \
                -sPAPERSIZE=$PAPERSIZE \
                -dBitsPerPixel=$BITPERPIXEL \
                -dNOPAUSE \
                -dSAFER \
                -sOutputFile=- -

        if [ "$SENDEOF" != "" ]; then
exit 0

I am not trying to print other file type than

the printer is typing some un readable stuff

what is wrong ?

I fesl that my week point is the gs binaries

Have you compiled in support for your printer. If it's not compiled it, it won't work unless the binary distribution says it is a supported printer.

My suggestion would be to download the sources, and compile it natively.
