RegMaid.exe "Is this for me"
Hello,
Well I ran into a program that's supposed to clean the be-devil out of the registry, it's called "REGMAID.EXE".
My problem is, I can't figure out how to install it.
I've posted questions in newsgroups and have been told that,
"MS Regmaid utility is distributed "uncompiled."
Has anybody tried this program. It's at
http://www.cyf-kr.edu.pl/ftp/softlib/full.html.
I'm wondering now if it's something just for programmers.
I'm a registry clutter nut, I play there just to learn. I've heard all the warning, I know how to get out of a registry mess-up. I know about and use "RegClean".
Regmaid comes with a lot of bitmaps that gives you a good idea of how it operates, and I've read the Readme.txt. It doesn't indicate that it's just for programmers but to clean the reg from left over trialware/shareware juck.
Here is part of the read me that might help you help me:
-------------------
RegMaid is a utility designed to help clean up invalid Registry entries caused by deleting OLE projects created with Visual C++ and MFC. RegMaid accomplishes this by providing information about entries that are believed to be problematic within HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT: CLSID, ProgId, TypeLib and Interface sections of the Registry. This information is in a Report Form of a list view, where the user can make multiple row selections.
