NIS clinet setup

I am new UNIX users and trying to setup the NIS client.  
When I run ypbind there is a message "segmentation fault" and sometimes with "segamentation fault (core dumped)" and created the core file.  What cause the segmentation fault and how do I fix that so I can run ypbind?

Try using the command strace, you can look at the system calls of the program and find out if there is a problem with any locl file.

Did you set you domain name before starting the program?
