I am new to programming. Is it possible to make a screensaver for win95 - winnt 4.0 out of an AVI. file in Delphi? If not what kind of program should i use?
Can someone send me some words on this?

Thanks

Some words: To make a screensaver that runs an AVI, you would want to use a media player component to play the avi, use a form aligned to client, and end the application on a mousemove event.
This is a very basic approach to the problem, and to do a really decent job of it (registering the screensaver with the windows, not making it show on the taskbar) is all perfectly possible in delphi, but it requires a fair bit of knowledge about delphi/windows and it represents a very deep point to dive into if you are new to programming.  Your best bet, is to use one of the presentation-type programs that allow you to just create your presentation/load your avi, then turn it into an avi for you, the names of which escape me just at this moment in time, its something like Klik 'n Create or something. ALternatively, you could spend time learning Delphi - time that will reward you well in the future no doubt. I recomment the latter approach, and if you are interested, i will be happy to provide help for you to do this.  THe Heapster
