thank you joshk it was something i never thought about however i now have to admit my own stupidity it was simply that i had inadvertently pushed the right mouse button which takes away the arrow and allows the mouse to become a controller of the plane.by the way the mouse worked perfectly in windows 95<br />
so i assumed that it wasnt the driver.thanks again for your answer have a nice week, pop cheers<br />
