Change path of BDE-alias at runtime

I have a Delphi 2.0 application and would like it to change the path of an existing BDE-alias before it opens the databases. How can I do this ??

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It´s much more easy to drop the alias handling from the BDE.
Just set a path on your database component instead of using an alies. That way you can change the path at run-time, and your installation program does not have to create an alias.

Use the TDatabase component at the main
form of your application. Use Ini files to
store information on current and past directories
so you can swap directories at any time during run time.
Initialise the TDatabase AliasName and Directory Name
at the FormCreate event of your Main form.
