Virex message

I use Virex 5.6.8 on a Mac 6115. The problems:

1) When I try to scan my HD, a message asks me to "Load 1st Segment of Archive..."
The message hides whatever file was about to be scanned, so I have no way of knowing which archive to open. That stops me from carrying out any scan.

2) Even though I keep opening the Virex Control Panel and rebooting, a message tells me that Virex did not load on startup, or something to that effect. Any ideas?

3) Also, do you know whether I should install Virex on my Zip drive as well as on my HD? Do both drives need their own copy, or would that only cause some kind of conflict?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

To the problem of Virex not opening up on startup, you might want to try throwing out the preferences file for virex, and see if that helps, otherwise, you could simply reinstall it from the System Cd that came with your computer.

Virex only needs to be on your HD since you can choose the drive that you wish to scan.

I can't really help you with the message from Virex itself, it sounds like VIrex is scanning the file and looking for another part, but I'm not sure
