ASP = Active Server Pages... a recent addition to Microsoft's internet information server.

The obvious answer is a Server Side Include tag like:

<!--#exec cmd="some shell command" -->

but that does not work with ASP.

What needs to be done is to create an object (like Server, Response, or Request) that has a method to shell out a command. If you have the Visual Studio tool, it would not be hard to create such an object with either C++ or VB.

Visit the site www.genusa.com/asp. This site has an activex
object that allows you to shell out a command.
