direwolf: It is. I can actually answer my own question now ...
the game is based on a card game, and both the card and computer
game can be had from http://www.flyingbuffalo.com/nucwar.htm.

Now if I could only figure out how to _close_ this question. Anybody for an easy 200 points? Just shtick a pretend answer on.
