Fax/file extension conversion.

Telephone Answering Messages--

(I really want to use novelty
messages from within my computer----
-----there's got to be a lighter side
of computer usage---Thanks in advance.)

Can anyone advise me how I might convert
.wav files to .vmf files, so that I might
use them with my Telepath 33.6 Fax Modem
(Faxworks 3.0/Windows95/Netscape Gold)
as answering messages? I am finding that
I cannot play (open) these .wav files and
record them as a message via mike in order to
convert them. When I try in this way the
sound file is cut off, something about the
audio board is in use.

I could tape with a pocket recorder
at the speaker and replay at the mike,
as I can record my own personal
message, but this is really low tech,
isn't it?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
