File I/O With Sioux

OK, I have a program in SIOUX that reads a file, does various operations on the file, and saves the output to a different file. I would like to have the user pick the file from the standard file dialog box. Also, I would like the user to be able to the same thing (a dialog box) when saving the new file. How hard is this to implement? I have done some basic Mac programming and would appreciate some assistance.

Hi,
Yes you can do both SIOUX and Mac specific stuff in the same program. The secret is first you must initiaize SIOUX with a printf or other call to SIOUX first. This will initialize the window manager and I beieve the dialog manager as well.

Paul was right, SIOUX initialize Toolbox and implement a kind of terminal but you can use (and i make use of them) any Toolbox routines and of course Dialog Manager and Standard Get File Package to ask user to choose  a file or give a name to file to save.
Its as simple as in any other Mac application.
You can find sample on Apple CD or on Apple Dev Web Site, those sample show you that way to use Standard File Package

Good luck
