Jaz Backup will not work

In our office we have two Performas & one Quadra connected, set up with Jaz & Retrospect for automatic daily backups.  They were installed professionally in October.  The installer could never get it to work consistantly.  I switched "experts" in January.  It's still not working.  It'll work for a few days after the computer rep fiddles with it but fails within a week, for a variety of reasons:  disk full; does not recognize the disk; not a macintosh disk; on and on. I don't want to put any more money into this system ... can I dump Retrospect and just use the Jaz drive/tapes for manual back-ups, dragging files over like the old days?

Yes of course, you could do a manual backup, but that rather defeats the object, don't you think?, Phone Dantz, the manufacturers of Retrospect and explain the problem to them, they have always been very helpful with me... and seem to know their business
