S.O.S. BDEngine Problem

Hello,
My name is Angel, and I've a problem with Databases. I'm sorry but my English is not to good I wish, I'm from Barcelona. The problem is that I've my application compiled and I want that it runs in another computer, but I can't.

I don't know who can I initialize the BDE. When the program runs appears the message 'An Error ocurred while attempting to initialize the BDE (error$2A04)'.

The program only have a Table in Paradox format. If I try to run the program in my computer it runs perfectly, but If I delete the directory BDE (In Common directory) it doesn't runs.

If someone could help me I was grateful. A lot of thanks.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Each computer that is to run your application must have the BDE installed, also. Check in your c:\delphi directory. There should be a file called DEPLOY.TXT. this file gives you step by step instructions on how to make sure your application will run on another computer. Basically, the steps are:
  1. Copy the .exe program to the new computer (your application)
  2. Install the BDE on the new computer (check to make sure that
the version you install is at least 2.52 -- if yours is
earlier, go to the www.borland.com site and download a
later version. Also check the REDIST directory, which
contains a BDEINST sub-directory, with the files you need
       to install BDE.
  3. Copy SQL Links support, if you need remote server access.
  4. ReportSmith runtime -- if you use ReportSmith.

If you can't locate version 2.52 of the BDE, email me at ctech@earthlink.net and I'll forward it on to you.

Thanks.
