Hi

I need to be able to build a string that equals

Select trade_close from trade where trade_date = '1995-05-09'

the above date has to be inside a pair of '

when I go g := ' Select trade_close from trade where trade_date = '1995-05-09' ' it does'nt work

How do I get a quote char inside a string

Thanks

Use the quote character twice :

'Select .... where trade_date = ''1995-05-09'''

Note that the string ends with _3_ quotes - 2 for the actual quote and one to end the string.
