Bad SIMM

How can I find out if I have a bad SIMM?  I have been getting a "EMM386 had detected error #06 in an application at Memory address 00B8:0BA0  To minimize the chance of data loss, EMM386 has halted your computer.  To restart your computer, press Enter" message when I try to close my new USRobotics RapidComm Voice.  USRobotics support tell me I might have a bad SIMM, but not how to find out.  I have 4 MB installed on my motherboard and 1 - 4 MB SIMM and 1 - 16 MB SIMM.  Is there a way to find out if one of these are faultly?  I don't know where to even see how much RAM my computer is recognizing either.

you can detect it with:

Wincheckit
QA/Plus
Please also check for viruses, the error mentioned above is also caused by some viruses.
