Read the Registry

I know how to read through dirs, but how do I read the
registry? I use win95 with Delphi 1, and I am curious how
to read a value like hkey_users/mydir1/mydir2/thisval.
I am only interested in reading a value, not changing it.
Any ideas?

Use TRegistry.  This is Delphi's native support for accessing the registry.

Additional Note:  Delphi has a help file for TRegistry, but it may be hard to find.  The easiest way to bring it up is to type "TRegistry"  somewhere in the code editor, place your cursor on the word, and press the F1 key.

For some reason, using the help search index doesn't find the topic on my system.

TRegistry doesn't show up in D1 help or if I put it in my
code and press F1 as stated above. Thanks for the response.  I am assuming you are using a different version with
a better "help" index, as I have searched for this and cannot find it. :(
