General Computer question

I received a business file download on a Mac, I have win95, plus, office and so on, file will not convert to being readable, default says I need application/x-excel for a plug in. Netscape does not have this plug in. Where can I find the plug to accept and read this mac spread sheet that says: Encoding base 64, Desc: Microsoft Excel Doc, have tried changing extensions and recopying it but still doesnt work. I can read the email message but not the file....Hope you can help..... I have manually recreated the ss but still would like the plug in for the future of sending more files and communicating with my investors on Mac.

I don't know if there is an Excel version for the PC. Have you tried asking for the file to be saved as a text or ASCII file? They can do that through Excel, and then you can read it into your own spreadsheet software.

I have tried jackster's approach already as stated in the basic
documnet saying I have tried all extensions to try and read the
file, to include, txt and ASCII. Back to the drawing board. Maybe
it just cant be done....
