Duke Nukem 3d

I have Duke on my network and want to play a networked game but I have to initialize the IPX first.
A friend told me to type in "startipx" in the duke directory to do this but it didn't work.
Is this statement correct??
What else can I do to get a network game going??

there's alot more than typing "startipx" or what ever to get a network card working on a machine... you have to configure the setting in a ini cfg or bat file (what ever this card requires)

there should be docs with the card... if not hard copys (paper) then on the install disk... you need to look at these...

i know, for my card, i have a net.cfg and an ne2000.ins i have to edit.. and that's only after i set configure the card its self..

also... make sure you have it set to the right cable type... 10 base t looks like wide phone cable while ether or thin net look like cable tv cable...

if your card is set up in windows, you can check out the settings there....

also... the question is worth WAY more than 10 points... don't be stingy... it's not nice

if he's got a startipx.bat and it's not working... then he doesn't have a working ipx network
