wierd bug: RC : fatal error RW1010: Could not open 0X409.RC

This bug suddenly happened to me, it appears at the very early stage of compiling...
i tried reinstalling vc but it didn't fix it either, vc seems to leave some setup file somewhere, i don't know...
so, help me plzz...

it sounds as if this is taking place during resource compilation which (as you said) is the first thing done at compile time (that is if the main rc file has changed). if this is your project, take a look at your main .rc file and see if there is a #include for 0X409.rc. if there is and you know you don't need it, just get rid of that include. otherwise if this is not your project, then you'll have to find that file because the project needs it. or maybe not - you'll have to look into it.
and it's not a bug, just a resource compilation error that occurs because it's expecting a file that isn't there..
