C&C Slovakia mission

I'm having trouble on the Slovakia mission while playing the GDI side in Command and Conquer-- the one where you have to protect the hospital, the doctor, the civilians, AND eliminate NOD. If I attack right away, I get creamed. If I wait to build up forces, too many civilians die and I lose.
What am I missing?

The civilians are dying because they are walking on Tiberium (presuming that you are protecting them from the NOD). Try constructing your base above the village. Move vehicles to block the bridges so the civilians don't walk into the tiberium. Harvest the tiberium around the village first. Buy two or three harvesters. Also make sure that you prevent the Nod from dropping troops off from helicopter into the village by placing one of the missile launches there. This will gain you some time to build your forces. But all this isn't really necessary. You can stage an all out assault almost right away by just buying one APC and a couple of engineers. Drive the APC to the right part of the enemy base, drop of the engineers and notice how poorly the Nod fight when you own half of their buildings (this does take a lot of skill).
