"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If the number of choices is equal to the number of choices visible on the screen, the triangle is gone.

To expand the dropdown list, you must type SIZE="number" in your <SELECT> tag in the HTML-code.

Thank you, this is good information.  hOwever I was not clear
enough when I posted it in this forum.  I need to do this in JAVA.  The original question was in comp.lang.java.gui and I did not have to clarify where I was working.  Your answer will be helpful in other projects.
