How to load bitmap from file

How can I load bitmap from file.. All I
need it's HBITMAP to xxxx.bmp. I can
load bitmap from rc file, but I'm not
figured out how can I do that from
xxxx.bmp. I use bc of OS/2 1.5

Take a look at issue 1-7 of EDM/2, at
http://www.edm2.com.  I wrote an article
on the bitmap file format, and how to load
bitmaps into memory.  Sample code is
included, as well as a detailed
description of the file itself.
