I require information on the definition, uses and applications of groupware for a homework assignment.
I would appreciate any assistance, including links to sites with information.

The only groupware I'm familier with is groupwise.  You can probably get all the information you need at http://www.novell.com/groupwise/ If you have some questions after reviewing the site, just make a comment and allow me to respond before you grade my answer.
