So, I desperately want to no, what the tag
\lang means. What is the number
(in my case 1053) that's written after it, and where in an RTF-doc will I find it?

Hi dr_gonzo,

\lang applies a language to a character. Its parameter is a number corresponding to a language (in your case 1041 is 0x041d in hexadecimal, so it indicates the Swedish language).
The \plain control word resets the language property to the language defined by \deflang N in the document properties.

You can find the specifications and additional related stuff for RTF until version 1.5 at the following location: ftp://ftp.primate.wisc.edu/pub/RTF/index.html
