URGENT! Redhat Linux Instalation Hangs

Hi! I'm having problems installing red hat linux off the cd-rom.  I can start the installation process, but about half way through it just stops transferring.  The HD and cd-rom lights still flicker, but they're in a repeated noticible pattern.  Last night I left it installing all night and in the morning the progress bar hadn't moved an inch.  The file that it hung on the first time was GNU utillities.  The second time (I had re-started the computer to abort setup), it hung on curses terminal control libraries.  This file took about an hour to install the first time around...
The computer is a Dell Demension 386dx with an 80 meg conor hard drive.  It has 8 megs of ram and runs at 33mhz.
      Any Ideas?

Please Please E-Mail me Soon, I am VERY Anxious To Use Linux!

Thanks! :)

Thank's, but the problem was that I needed to logout of a bash session on Virtual terminal 2, that was slowing it down.  I'm giving you 150 points for your help.
