Installing System 7.6 on a Powerbook 140/not enough memory..

Trying to install 7.6 on a powerbook 140.  Says there is not enough
memory to install.  Is there a way around this besides buying a newer mac?
Is there a way to just install the core system for 7.6.  Thanks for any
help...

well...first if its available install the system onto another powerbook 140 that HAS enough ram then drag the system over. The other way:when in the installer at the main install window (where you choose which disk to install to) choose custom install. then select the box next to "min system for this computer only". that installs only what is needed for your comp and the minimum components.
