pop3d

HELP! Why does pop3d running on RED-HAT 4.1 give me an error
telling me that my the folder /var/spool/mail/xxxxx is already
being read when my win95 client tries to get its mail across
my ethernet. ANY WORKING ANSWER GETS AN A

pop3d is version 1.005e

Your on the right lines -

I managed to work it out.
It needed a temporary directory called /tmp/.pop and
it couldn't create it.

If the server is heavily used check to make sure it cleans up its temporary files as the version I had before qpopper was very bad at this.
