I am writing a 3-tiers client/server application with SQL Server as back-end, Transaction Server as middle tier and VB5 as front-end.
I encountered this error message (Error - 2147023174 : Automation Error) whenever I start the application ,with only a OK button was given. My middle and 3rd tiers were not access at all.
P/S: My application run across 3 different platforms.
Can anybody tell me what is the cause of this error.

Have you at all patched the oleautomation and common control 32 files ? (If thats what is causing it.) You will need to make sure that they are the latest versions, or like I get in my apps sometimes, and Automation error occurs.
