inal gardner refered me to this area, maybe i can get an answer to a question i have. i am thinking of buying wordperfect 7 with paradox 7.  i currently have a lot of database files in dbase iv.  can i convert my dbase iv files to parados 7 and if so how difficult of a job will it be?  i have a basic knowledge of computers but am by no way an expert so if it is going to be to difficult i may change my mind.

Very, Very simple.  Paradox has built in support for dBase tables.  As a matter of fact, you don't even have to convert to Paradox tables if you don't want to, Paradox recognizes most dBase table level features (except for the indexing features). In any case, to convert a dBase table to a Paradox table, simply Choose, Utilities, Copy, select the table you want to copy, then change the .DBF extension to .DB.  Paradox automatically converts the DBASE field types to their corresponding Paradox field types.

Any questions, please ask.

Good Luck!!!
