Hello,
I made a mistake and it is driving me crazy!
I uninstalled Interstate76 in order to patch it for the D3D thang, saving  all of my SAVE###.CMP files to
another temp directory. What they forgot to tell me was that I also needed to save my SAVEGAME.DIR
as well. Like a bonehead I deleted the old files, and now I can't load my old bookmarks.
I believe that the only thing missing now is the proper Savegame.dir, which contains markers telling the program what is saved...On a NG I posted for help and your company responded. Somebody who has I76 and has saved several games may be able to send me a copy of theirs and I could get an idea of how my savegame.dir is supposed to look.
The problem is that I was almost finished, on level 16 or so, and I'd hate to have to play the whole game over.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

You probably can get it back through undelete. I assume it's a DOS based game. go to the directory it was in and type: "undelete savegame.dir" If it finds the file, it will ask you for the first letter. Type "s" and you got it.
If that doesn't work, try to start a new game and same a game. That file will be re created and you'll be able to see how it looks like.

Thanks John,
Thanks for your prompt help. Unfortunately, I've tried those two things already and no dice...
The new savegame.dir for a brand new game only lists those that you have saved (of course) and there is no way to import outside files. I was hoping that if I could see a file that was full of saved games, it might give me a clue.
It was too far gone for Undelete to help, but thanks for the suggestion..

Here's my Email address. I don't have the game, so I can't promise anything, but send me the saved games and a savegame.dir file
