Delphi expert,

How can I communicate with the Microsoft SQL server without ODBC ?

When you install delphi there is a option to install the SQL drivers as well.

If you have installed the SQL drivers and you have the Client Drivers for Microsoft SQL then you should be able to create a Alias with the type set to MSSQL is delphi 2 and 3 or Sybase for Delphi 1.
In Delphi 1 you need to set the lang driver to Dic 437 as well.

If all of the drivers are set up correctly then it should connect.

Actually, I am not using client/server version !
