I now running linux ip_masq as a gateway between
the internet world and my intranet.
MTU could affect my ppp connection speed,
so for Win95 ethernet, the optimal value of MTU
is 1006,
but when this ethernet is connected to the world
through the linux box, what value of MTU should be
for the win95 clients and the linux server?

both 576 or one is 1006 and the other is 576?

It doesn't matter which you use though it is commonly known that a lower MTU (ie 576) causes less network probs and is more reliable than a higher MTU.

I personally would use both at 576.
