nectar;

There is a lot of information for news on Linux available. The most common stuff is on the INN news package. The other news server, cnews, really isn't documented very well.

We were using cnews origionally but, when it blew up one day we found nobody knew how to set it up properly(maybe that's why it blew up in the first place).

INN Seems to be infinatly better documented and supported. It also donen't break easy and most ISP's seem more comfortable with it.

INN Comes with Linux and there are simple readers like tin that come with it or you can use the news features of a larger program, say Netscape to talk to an INN server.

To find some of this information checkout the following -

Linux Documentation project via www.linux.org. There are several howto documents on news.

PSI Net at irc.psi.net/news

FTP a document Install.out from ftp.psi.net/pub/usenet/docs/inn/Install.out

Hope this gets a good mark on the report.

I can not see adequate information about news server to do my report in www.linux.org. But the ftp.psi.net/pub/usenet/docs/inn/Install.out is OK. I have to gather more information to do my report. Thank you anyway.
