I used the class wizard to generate a class from the Word object library. Can anyone please tell me the progarmatic identifier for Word 97 ver 8.0 which is the argument  in the CreateDispatch function. Or Is there any other way I can access Word from VC++ ver 5.0.

The string you need to use with CreateDispatch() is "Word.Application.8".

Sorry, I've never encountered that error message. You'd better post another question about this new topic.

The above problem is solved, I had'nt set the visible property to true. But I have now something new.
In the wrapper class for Documents , there is a function called Open which takes 10 parameters, How do we specify the Format parameter. What is the equivalent of wdOpenFormatAuto used in VisualBasic in VC++.I need to get the bookmarks in a document given the name of the document.
