Associating Dragon Naturally Speaking with other programs?

I have a friend who recently bought the Dragon Naturally Speaking program and is using it for all her typing because she is unable to type at any length. She is currently dictating into a word processor and then cutting and pasting into other programs (email and chat programs ect.) How can she associate Dragon Naturally Speaking with her other exe files such at mIRC and her email so she can dictate directly into these programs? Thank you for your help in advance.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

timshank,

hmm, that would be a toughie. I'm not sure it is pssible.  You may want to contact the respective software companies and ask.  If needed I can give you the URL for the mIRC homepage.

Also, what e-mal client is you friend using?

If I'm not mistaken there are e-mail clients that will allow dictation directly into e-mail.

As far as mIRC, I know that it is possible to have the MONOLOGUE progrma _read_ the text, but I really don't know about dictating _to_ mIRC.

Wish I could have been more help.

I talked with their technical support and I was told that the current version 1.0 is compatible ONLY with the Windows95 WordPad and nothing else. One has to use the cut-and-paste or a program that knows how to open a *.doc file (Word format).

I am looking to this program as a possible solution for a law firm. Do you know if the accuracy is indeed the way they claim, over 95% ?

Thank you, I also contacted the technical staff and recieved a similar response... They said they were working on another program that would associate itself with other programs. I also have heard good things about the IBM Simply Speaking Gold, and you can associate it with other programs. I will post an answer about the dragon program as soon as I recieve it. Thanks again!
