how to get/parse input from CGI inside JS ?

Direct answer:
No way with JavaScript!!!

First Way around:
Simple Java applet can do this and pass data to
JavaScript.
But due to security restrictions applet can connect
only to server where from it was loaded.

second way around:
no sence to do it at client-side,
if you can do it inside CGI.

third way around :)
If you can open window for this cgi connection
you can get SOME data from child window with JavaScript
(again if both connections to the same server)
You can get forms data or you can get
links data from child window, so if CGI return
links you can get it, but not plain text of document.

If you try pass data directly from java to javascript it doesn't work also because javascript refuse to do I/O even trough applet !!!
