I have installed Netscape 4.03 over top of Netscape 3.01.  I would like to remove version 3 to clear up space on my harddrive.  When I remove netscape 3.01, will I lose any e-mail or newsgroups that I have saved?  Also, how can I tell if I have any e-mail in version 4.03? In the previous versions, a yellow exclamation mark indicated new mail.  All I see in the tool bar is the icon for mail.

1. You can backup the address.htm, bookmark.htm, ... in you Netscape 3.01 directory.
After Netscape 4.03 installed, copy these .htm to overwrite default files.
But normally, you can install Netscape 4.03 without any backup.
It will use all your data automatically. It's easy enough.

2. E-mail detecting :
[Edit] --> [Preference] --> [Mail & Groups] --> [Mail Server] -->
[More Options] --> Check for mail every xxx minutes --> [OK]
When E-mail detected, there is an envelop appears in the Task bar.
You can click it to receive E-mail.
