GroupWise addons crashes WORD/EXCEL

I install GroupWise(4,5,5.1,5.2) on a workstation with any installation type(Standard,Workstation) and have the MS Word or MS Excel addon installed. Then I go to run MS Word(or MS Excel), and it crashes when it gets into it.

My solution was to not install it, that worked for about a year.  Then someone thought it would be funny to have the users upgrade their own.  They did not uncheck this option.  They are all messed up. Why does this happen?  How can I fix it, besides deleting MS Word and MS Excel and Re-Installing them?

Specific add-ons are placed in \Winword\Wrdstart and \Excel\Xlstart.
Move the files out of these dir's and the app's should start normally.

Let me know if you need more info, good luck.
Henrie.

Yes, your advice worked perfectly.  I should have mentioned that the problem happens in Office 95, it does not effect Office 97 at all.  The MS Word 96 plugin directory was actually \startup\ in Office 95 though.

Thank you very much,
