Dialing In HP Unix

I spent almost 2 months now tryinig to configure my HP Unix
box to be able to dial In via modem.
The modem answer, but no login prompt.
Who can help, I am getting frustrated here.

you need a getty in  /etc/inittab, like (adapt to your desires):

modem:2456:respawn:/etc/getty -h /dev/modem

also check your  /etc/gettydefs.
