Needing some good mail software

I need software that will allow me to send mail to large
groups of people. I would like to send mail to :

someid@someplace.com and have it send it to a group a people
specified for that id. I also do not want anyone but who I
designate be able to send to this userid.

I need this to send mass mailings out to my customers (I work at an ISP) using a single email id.

What is the best (and cheapest) software out their?

Thanks Chuck,
sorry about only giving 40 pts, all I have left.

sendmail as MTA, and any MUA speaking SMTP you like.

Nothing could be cheaper, its part of any UNIX :-)
