Is there a freeware or shareware version of any Optical Character Recognition softwares I can lay my hands on over the net or otherwise?

No, I have looked and spent tons of hoours looking for a freeware/shareware one...... there aren't any.... if you want to reject this answer go ahead, but nobody will tell you yes and in a month you will be asking them to remove the question from the queue
