I'm looking for some old Macintosh software, vintage '92 or earlier, that leaves files of type DLPB and creator id of DLP6. It's probably crypto or archival in nature, but may just be a straight application, it's hard to say. I don't have a password anymore, so if I do find the application then I may need advice on how to get into the file.

Anyone been hoarding old applications for this moment to come forth in
triumph?

Many thanks,

Miles

According to Apple's website DLPB is no longer in use. The Type and Creator Database from Ilan Szekely Version 2.9 reveals the following information about creator DLP6

DropDecrypt      APPL      DLP6      Application      Symantec
FolderLock      APPL      DLP6      Application      Duplicate code

The database is available from:

Okay, I also think that Norton DiskLock (or other applications bearing the name "DiskLock") seem to have that creator ID. It's possible Aladdin Systems wrote one of these. A lot tends to blur after five years. :-(
