Ok, now my samba is working, however whenever i try to
map a share from my Win NT Server (acting as PDC) i get "This account cannot be used to logon from this machine" (translated from swedish)

But it works just fin from the W95 machines in the domain. What could be amiss here?

You have SP3 installed and this is your Problem. After SP2 MS changed the way they handle passwords in NT. They today use only encrypted passwords which are not supported in many LAN-Manager implementations.
So the solution is to use Plain Test Passwords.

To do this start regedt32 in the system32 Directory

go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
there go to the entry \system\currentcontrollset\services\rdr\parameters
and add the following
Value Name: EnablePlainTextPassword
DataType: REG_DWORD

and in the next window give the DATA Field the value:    1

Then click OK

YES! i think this is the fix... i remebered it when i saw it!

However.. will this mean that the NT broadcasts ALL passwords as plain text???

( i wont fail the answer even if the answer to this follow up is "yes" but i need to know) :)

And do you know anything about encryption support in SAMBA?
