Netware 3.12 - Abend - Polling Process

Can anyone help with a 3.12 server which crashes with an abend message of
"Polling Process"

This server has been built recently to spread the load and only has a few
minor applications installed on it.  The biggest is ccMail with 160
users.

Users don't login to it - they attach from a different 3.12 server.

We have installed all the patches and still no joy.

Nine crashes today so am getting "frantic"!!

Not even sure what additional info to provide.

email to wocptr@rmc-svr.trg.army.defence.gov.au
(Am at work and will be quicker)

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Polling process can be linked to many things.  Controller drivers, various NLMs, etc.

I would suggest making sure you have applied the latest Novell 3.12 minimum patch list and verifying you have the latest BIOS revs on your controller as well as the latest drivers for you NIC's and controller.

Other things that would help are knowing the first several lines of the abend messsage.  What time and how often does it crash?  Load monitor and see if processor utilization is rising before the abend, etc.

PoLling process under NW 3.12 might be PRINT SERVER process that is configured to POLL print jobs.
Possible solution:
reconfigure Your print server to serv printer as IRQ process not (if it is set as) poll process.
I wish You luck and
