Dial-Up Password Problem

When I use dial-up networking it continues to ask for a password. The box to check for saving the password is not highlighted so I can't check it. I have been using the MS ISDN dial-up program. The program "remembered " my password for the past six months. Now it won't let me activate the remember option. Is there any way to resolve this other than reinstalling the the dial-up program?
Thanks

You have checked to see that you still have the Client for Microsoft Networks installed in the Network Control Panel? Also, check in your Windows directory to see that you still have the <USERNAME>.pwl file still there, USERNAME being the name you log into Windows with.

The "dunce" program worked as advertised.
